How I can use a voltmeter to check my central air conditioning compressor and fan motor?
One of my two units of air Central to my apartment is not working and the management do nothing for us. I was told that if I replace the parts in the air / I'm going to compensate the parties only if you get it started! On both units: (A) I'm getting inside terminals 220V (B) Receipt of 24V thermostat connections. (C) The same capacitors are part # 35uf and 440V. I changed the top non-functioning in unity and good just hummed for about 6 seconds, so I tried to cover up the good unit in the unit problem and it was not nothing. I even tested the voltage on two wires, each continues to show a 120V. Digital voltmeter Wonder what that tells me if I tested the engine and compressor. In the motor 4 I found cables 27.2, 52 and 78.8 ohms, and zero in the other three combinations. In the compressor cables found 9.6, 9.5 and 0.5 ohms. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
This is a difficult question to answer without being there. If you are not competent to change the compressor, then this is a moot point anyway. I would suggest get a good air technology. He proves to you, remove the coolant, weld on the new compressor, the system of evacuation and charging. If the owner pay for part of costs, you are the bill. It will not be pious, but it is done correctly and safely.
